This is an example of events at the annual Picnic Celebration.
As anyone from Swisher County knows, Picnic is a very special time! The annual July event serves as a moment that welcomes back friends and family from far away, and gives residents a opportunity to honor their heritage, showcase their community pride, and share all the bounty of the past year! As shown in the above posters that promote these events, the museum plays a pivotal role in the celebration. Usually, during picnic the museum is open special hours and features photos and pictures, with annuals available for view for each visiting class of THS students who are having reunions during the picnic. Additionally during the picnic, the museum will often host live events that feature interactive experiences with community elders, honored veterans & guests, book signings by local authors, and presentations on founders’ history. When you visit for picnic, don’t forget to come on by and take a REAL trip down memory lane with the Swisher County Archives & Museum.
